(WSVN) – Miami Gardens, Florida (MIAMI GARDENS) Rick Ross, in conjunction with Councilman Reggie Leon and THRT Denim, is giving back to his hometown of Miami by presenting kids at Miami Norland Senior High School and Miami Carol City Senior High School with over $200,000 worth of apparel and school materials.
Ross, who was born and raised in Miami, underlined how important it is to maintain contact with young people and their ideas. “The most important thing is staying in touch with the kids, and letting them know that you can dream big, and you can touch it,” Ross added.
The purpose of the combined effort is to promote education and youth empowerment through the provision of necessary resources. In addition to the apparel and materials, a check donation in the amount of $4,000 was provided to the schools’ band programs in order to encourage children that participating in music may lead to achievement.
This is not the first time that Rick Ross has undertaken an endeavor of this nature. In the beginning of this year, he worked in collaboration with the Rolling Loud Hip Hop Music Festival and the City of Miami Gardens to present eight kids with scholarships worth a combined $10,000. His goal was to highlight the significance of education and its relationship to long-term success.
