DJ Khaled’s dedication to his children knows no bounds, and he went above and beyond to ensure that Asahd had an unforgettable seventh birthday. As a special gift, DJ Khaled arranged for a pair of custom Air Jordans for his son.
Khaled shared the heartwarming moment when Asahd excitedly opened the care package, courtesy of none other than Michael Jordan himself and Reggie Saunders from Jordan Brand, on Sunday, October 22.
“Happy Birthday to my son @asahdkhaled! I love you so much, and Mommy and I are incredibly proud of you,” he expressed. Asahd’s actual birthday is on October 23, but they decided to start celebrating a day early and declared that every day is Asahd’s birthday. Khaled also extended his gratitude to God, Reggie Saunders, and Michael Jordan for making this surprise possible.
Khaled, in the video, mentioned, “These are extremely exclusive. I spoke to Michael Jordan and Uncle Reg, and they made it happen. Are you ready? Happy birthday… check out the satin pair with your nаme on it. They are the 1’s. Look at this.”
But the surprises didn’t end there; a basketball signed by Michael Jordan was soon delivered to the Khaled residence.
The celebrations continued with a Nintendo Switch-themed birthday party, where DJ Khaled shared a slideshow of photos featuring Asahd, surrounded by friends and family, engaging in activities like basketball and bowling.
The comments section of DJ Khaled’s post was flooded with birthday wishes for Asahd from well-known figures, including Busta Rhymes and others.
DJ Khaled has a strong bond with Air Jordan, collaborating with the renowned brand on various shoe designs. In fact, he claimed earlier this month that his Salmon-flavored “We The Best” Air Jordan 5’s are the best-selling Air Jordan collaboration in the brand’s illustrious history.
According to DJ Khaled, “The We The Best 5’s, the Jordan 5’s, was the biggest release number-wise in Jordan-collaboration history. Do your research and get to it ASAP. We’re talking numbers. Because when I put these out and the Coconuts, I wаnted to make sure we did a worldwide thing.”
Supporting his statement, a clip was found where Jordan’s VP of Entertainment Marketing, Reggie Saunders, confirmed that Khaled’s collaboration was indeed the largest launch with any collaborator they’ve ever worked with.
