Rapper Drake has spent time with Victor Wembanyama before his eagerly awaited NBA debut on Wednesday night.
Wembanyama, the Spurs’ first-round selection overall in this year’s draft, will face the Mavericks in San Antonio to open his professional career in the United States.
The ‘For All the Dogs’ rapper and the French sensation, however, appear to have had some time for off-court fun as well because on Monday, the former posted a picture of themselves together.
He wrote, “Random dump before the serious stuff begins,” as the Instagram description for a collection of pictures.
Drake stood next to Wembanyama, who was seven feet four inches tall and towered over him.The recording artist from Canada might not be supporting the rookie when the Spurs play his favorite team, the Toronto Raptors, on November 5.
Wembanyama, meanwhile, might be hoping that the rapper won’t wager on him and give him the “Drake Curse.”
The 37-year-old has gained notoriety in recent years for placing large wagers, many of which are lost.
After Israel Adesanya’s shоcking middleweight title loss to Sean Strickland last month, he lost $500,000. Prior to that, he foolishly risked $250,000 by picking Nate Diaz to defeat Jake Paul.
But Wembanyama seems to be a sure thing, whether Drake bets on him or not.
The 19-year-old’s enormous body will instantly make him an outstanding rebounder and defender, and he handles the ball with a smooth touch that is unmatched for someone his size.
In one game against the Heat, he recorded 23 points and three blocks, showcasing his excellent preseason play.
Additionally, his sister will be in the stands for his first competitive NBA game, as she disclosed on her Instagram story on Sunday.
