Watch the video that Drake made to promote his new album below. It shows him and his group taking shots with his Grammy prize.
This past weekend, on June 22, the rapper and singer revealed that his third album, “Nothing Was The Same,” would be available on September 17. Drake’s joy upon receiving his Grammy award for Best Rap Album for 2011’s “Take Care” is depicted in the video that was published today. The video shows him pulling the gong out of the box, filling the gramaphone-shaped trophy with liquid, and passing it around for his group to sip from.
This past weekend, Drake also made four new songs from his upcoming album available on his website. The new music includes a freestyle verse called “Jodeci” with Roc Nation signee J Cole, a remix of the Migo song “Versace,” a new tune called “The Motion” that is reportedly going to be on the upcoming full-length album, and a contribution to the PARTYNEXTDOOR song “Over Here.” Rapper Sampha, a collaborator with SBTRKT, makes a guest appearance in “The Motion” and talks about how hard it is to balance job, family, and pleasure.
This comes after the US celebrity announced this week that he will be embarking on a 41-date North American tour with Miguel under the banner of the “Would You Like A Tour?” tour.
Drake also released two more songs earlier this year, “Start From The Bottom” and “5AM in Toronto,” in addition to the new song “Girls Love Beyoncé.” In the first song, Drake sings parts of the Destiny’s Child classic song “Sаy My Nаme,” co-written by Justin Timberlake collaborator James Fauntleroy.
His 2011 album “Take Care,” which has sold over two million copies and been certified platinum, is followed up by “Nothing Was The Same.”
