A line has been drawn in the weeks since Jay’s news. Some people fully back Mr. Carter, while others have used social media to sаy what they see as a betrayal.
Sean “P.Diddy” Combs, a longtime friend and partner, posted on Instagram on Monday (Aug. 26) that he supports Jay-Z’s new project.
“Hov is one of the best who’s ever done it.” He’s been there more than anyone else in the hip hop scene, even me. He has always put other people before himself and fought for them. We can’t be split up and beaten right now as a people!” Combs with captions.
Also, Diddy made sure to praise Kaepernick and his work for social justice: “I’m so proud of @kaepernick7 and the attention he was able to bring and the efforts he continues to make.” I will keep supporting him in any way I can.”
Diddy said it hurt him to hear that his friend’s choice wasn’t being fully understood after hearing about the news and the negаtive reactions it caused.
“I watched it all last week, and it hurt my heart because I know this man.” He is one of the most honest and smart black leaders we’ve ever had. There aren’t enough of us to go against each other. Jay-Z and the NFL should both be proud of bringing him in.
“This isn’t just about the NFL; it’s about how everyone treats black and brown people in this country every day,” Diddy said. “No one is going to make the hard choices for us; we have to do it ourselves.”
