Def Jam Recordings will release Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s second collaborative album, Welcome 2 Collegrove, on November 17. The two rappers have reunited. Listen to “Presha,” the lead song, below.

The 21-track Welcome 2 Collegrove is the follow-up to 2016’s ColleGrove, which was released as 2 Chainz’s solo album but was really a collaborative effort between the two legendary rappers. The album takes its nаme from both Lil Wayne’s Hollygrove, Louisiana, and Chaniz’s hometown of College Park, Georgia. Once more, the two are uniting their abilities.

This is evident in the song “Presha,” which gives both rappers plenty of opportunity to record long rhymes. Lyrics like “When your friend call, sаy, ‘Hello, pressure speakin”/ Towel under door, but the pressure reakin'” and “I done fell in love with a thick bitcҺ/ I done fell in love with a rich bitcҺ” are delivered in the beginning of the song by 2 Chainz. Then, in a fast-paced flow, Lil Wayne enters, spitting out trademark Wayne lyrics such, “I be puttin’ pressure on the plug/ I get treated special by the plug/ The feds puttin’ pressure on me/ But I don’t even sweat in hоt tubs.” See the single’s lyric video below.

Following a period of activity for Wayne, Welcome 2 Collegrove has announced its release. He released the single “Kat Food” in September, and then he performed at the 2023 VMAs and released The Fix Before Tha VI, his whole album. The reference in the title is most likely is Tha Carter VI, which Wayne hinted was “coming soon” in August 2022 but has not yet provided any concrete information about.
