Coldplay’s Pasadena concert saw Selena Gomez make an unexpected entrance, surprising the band and the entire audience with the song “Let Somebody Go”

At Coldplay’s stadium show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Sunday night (Oct. 1), Selena Gomez shocked the crowd by joining the group for a rendition of their 2021 song, “Let Somebody Go.”

Gomez said, “Thank you @coldplay @hermusicofficial for an amazing night,” in her Instagram Story, which also included additional glimpses of the song’s performance from Coldplay’s ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres.

When opening act H.E.R. joined in halfway through, he added harmonies while ripping off an electric guitar solo. The moment was captured on camera for her Story. Gomez wandered out to the satellite stage to join singer Chris Martin at his electric piano, doubling his vocals as they sang, “All the storms we weathered, everything that we went through/ Now, without you, what on earth am I to do?/ When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain/ They said, ‘Love is only equal to the pain’.”

The song’s TV premiere on The Late Late Show with James Corden in October 2021, not long after the album’s release, featured Gomez alongside Coldplay. This summer hit, “Single Soon,” was just released by the artist. She described the song to her fans on Instagram, calling it “a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to.” As of right now, the song is ranked No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100.
