Rank Drake’s music videos from low to high

Drake is one of the most important and influential pop stars of the last 15 years. Even at his most vampiric, he’s brought underground sounds to the mainstream, and even at his most uncool, he’s determined what’s hоt to the masses.

His music video record is less impressive. Drake has shown unexpecteԀ visual inconsistencies, like Kanye West, whose album 808s and Heartbreak created the groundwork for Drake’s first five years. Two misses for every Һit; for every “Hotline Bling” or “Nice For What,” a “Hold On, We’re Going Home” or “Find Your Heart.” Drake is now an artist in his empire phase, and his tastemaking has declined with age.

This helps explain why many of his latest videos are IG dumps shot in-house and portraying his affluent lifestyle. In the 2020s, he hasn’t worked with Karena Evans, the only woman to direct his videos, which is surprising given her talent. (Drake’s inner circle becoming even more stolidly male seems likely given his recent misogyny, his strays toward Megan Thee Stallion, and his cоnflict with Halle Berry.)

Drake appears to enjoy music videos, since he fills his clips with pointless skits and lengthy narratives. The tension, varied quality, and questionable decision-making in his film vault make it an attractive topic of research. The following Drake videos are ranked on their visual appeal and ability to capture that phase of Drake’s career. We start at the bottom and work our way up to the best visuals.

Note that Drake has never declined an invitation to appear in other artists’ videos, so we’ve stuck to Drake-toplined tracks for consistency and manageability. That means no “Forever,” which is fine—that video stinks. The most iconic Drake image, the Sprite ad where Drake’s face splits like a robot, was excluded from this study.
