The titans of the music industry displayed their own muscle on a performance platform while world leaders convened in Hamburg, Germany for the 12th annual G20 conference. 

At Barclaycard Eve, the first-ever Global Citizen Festival in Europe featured performances by Coldplay, Shakira, Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding, Herbert Grönemeyer, and Andreas Bourani. The event took place the night before the prestigious pow wow. 

The performance was arranged as a kind of musical protest by the non-profit social action platform Global Citizen to remind heads of state to address the needs of the world’s most vulnerable people, including the hungry, homeless, and the impoverished.
