Drake declares that he will contribute $200,000 to the humanitarian efforts following Hurricane Harvey.

Drake’s sizeable donation will go through J.J. Watt, a standout player for the Houston Texans,’ Youcaring campaign. In an Instagram video clip published on Thursday, Drake says, “To the resilient people of Houston and the entire state of Texas, I would like to send you all of our love and all of our prayers.”

“Your acts are genuinely heroic, to the brave me𝚗 and wоme𝚗 who have helped with aid, relief, and rescue. Through Youcaring, my dear friend J.J. Watt launched a fundraising campaign, to which I have contributed $200,000.” “The road to reconstruction is going to be a long one, so anything you can give is greatly appreciated,” he continues.

On Monday, August 28, Drake expressed his anguish as he watched Hurricane Harvey’s deadly winds ravage Texas. “We are now traveling in London, and as I look at pictures of the devastation Hurricane Harvey has wrought, all I can think about is how devastated I am. For everyone who is impacted, I am praying for their safety. For the past eight years, Houston has genuinely felt like home to me,” he stated.
