John Daly, a golfing cult legend, attended DJ Khaled’s 48th birthday party on Saturday night for a lavish bash. Daly uploaded Instagram photos of him with Ne-Yo and Raekwon. Daly joked that a mermaid swimming in a tank at the party kissed him.
Khaled and Daly became friends when the musician took up golf this year and said Daly offered him a tee time. Daly’s presence at Khaled’s birthday party suggests a good hangout, even though the scores are unknown. What a birthday party—love, brother! Daly wrote, “Happy birthday!” next to a photo of him and DJ Khaled. He captioned NeYo’s photo: ‘You live on a golf course… gonna get you some clubs.’ Alpharetta’s luxury golf neighborhood is home to NeYo’s $3million home. Daly lives nearby in Florida.
How often Daly and Khaled have hung around on or off the golf course is unknown, however Daly invoted Raekwon to play a round with him in the images. I’ll get you golfing chef! Daly wrote on his Raekown photo. Since turning professional in 1997, Daly has won two majors, but he is also known for his lifestyle. In past interviews, Daly has said he vomits if he eats veggies and exclusively drinks water through his diet coke ice.
During the 2008 Wyndham Championship, CBS sports reporter Will Brinson documented Daly’s diet, which included 21 cigarettes, 12 Diet Cokes, 6 packs of Peanut M&Ms, and 0.0 ounces of water.
Rich Beam, a fellow American golfer, labels me a ‘camel’ since I never drink water. I drink diet coke and like ice, which is water, so I get lots of water in my coke,’ Daly told Graham Bensinger in 2016 while sporting a stars and stripes blazer.
My water intake is zero. I dislike water. I hate water. I went to McDonald’s three or four times a day and drank 12-20 diet cokes. I always thought they had the nicest fountain drink.I adore BK, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell. I could sit down and eat two Big Macs, two or three cheeseburgers, a chocolate shake, and regular coke.
When in his prime, 57-year-old Daly could compete with the best in golf. He won the 1991 PGA Championship and 1995 British Open.
Son John Daly II golfs at Arkansas, his father’s alma mater. Khaled, meanwhile, has won one Grammy in 2020 after 10 nominations. In ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle, and John Legend won a Grammy for ‘Higher.’
Khaled was a panelist on FOX’s ‘The Four: Battle for Stardom.’
