Kid Cudi reacts to his cover of Coldplay’s “Day ‘N’ Nite”

Coldplay debuted two “exclusive” new recordings on their debut Spotify singles, which were released yesterday.

In addition to performing an acoustic rendition of their hit song “Let Somebody Go” with Selena Gomez, the band treated their fans to a cover of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite.”

Chris Martin, the band’s leader, expressed how much he loved Cudi’s “brilliant” song. “I loved when it came out, and I still love love love it,” he stated.

Since it was made available as a digital download in 2008, Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” single has been downloaded over 2 million times in the US. The song continues to have an impact on music today and was crucial to Cudi’s artistic revolution.

“This is the first time I think that we’ve really taken proper time to record a cover,” Martin said. “I could hear a very different version of the song in my brain, which hopefully just serves to highlight how amazing the original is. I hope that everyone listening will simply exclaim, “Wow, Kid Cudi is amazing,” in one way or another.

Although a lot of people already believe Cudi is wonderful, one lucky fan received a reply from him on Twitter. Cudi commented on Twitter that Coldplay’s version of his song is “tasty.” Afterwards, he shared the band’s Spotify link again, making it obvious that he co-signed the cover.
