Dr. Dre’s son, DJ Tyler Young, has said he’s creating his own path and aiming to dominate a genre other than Hip Hop.
Young, who started producing some years ago, and his friend and partner, RMN, are building their own EDM legacy in honor of his father, who started deejaying electro music with World Class Wreckin’ Cru, according to TMZ.
The young producer informed the site that his family has supported him despite his everyday love of rap and G-funk.
Young will play his first Scottish show in Aberdeen and Dundee’s newly rebuilt Aura nightclub this weekend.
Dre told fans to stay tuned for a collaboration with his father, calling himself “The Watcher.”
Young’s proud patriarch has been contributing to the community by launching a new facility with Atlanta Public Schools.
In August 2024, the Iovine and Young Center will open at Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta for 9th Grade STEAM Academy students.
The curriculum allows students to “explore diverse disciplines, businesses, and industries to bring solutions to the problems surrounding these areas.”
Students will cooperate and pitch their inventions to solve real-world situations.
“We want to give the next generation of students access to a proven, revolutionary learning experience where technology meets design and entrepreneurship,” Iovine stated. This will prepare them for current occupations and enable them to rethink and design future jobs, technology, and creative enterprises.
He said, “We are thrilled with our results in higher ed and the Los Angeles high school, and hope for similar success with Atlanta Public Schools.”
