After Dior announced an indefinite postponement of collaboration with Travis Scott following the Astroworld tragedy, Travis Scott continuously wore LV as a challenge

Dior has declared that it will be delaying a forthcoming project with Travis Scott indefinitely.

Dior debuted the capsule collection created in association with Scott’s Cactus Jack label earlier this year. The rapper’s fans eagerly awaited the innovative collaboration, which was the first time the upscale clothing brand had collaborated with an artist on a full line.

When the line made its runway debut in June at Paris Fashion Week, fans got their first look. The elements, though, weren’t supposed to be implemented until 2022.

Now, Dior claimed in a statement to WWD on December 28 that the choice to pause the collection before its debut was taken “out of respect” for everyone impacted by the tragic Astroworld festival, which Scott produced and was the star of.

The statement says, “Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration that were originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld.”

On November 5, the opening night of the festival in Houston, Scott gave the headline act that left ten people dead and numerous others injured.

A medical examiner subsequently verified that all 10 victims—the youngest being 9 years old—died from “compression asphyxia,” which is to say that they were effectively strangled and crushed by outside pressure during the crowd surge.

Scott hasn’t officially addressed the Dior postponement as of yet. However, a person with knowledge of the matter told Complex yesterday that Dior and Scott came to the decision to postpone the line “mutually.”
