Chris Martin had to postpone Coldplay’s performance in Brazil due to a serious lung ailment

Chris Martin, the lead singer for Coldplay, was diagnosed with a “serious lung infection,” which is why Coldplay had to postpone their Brazilian tour.

The band issued a statement detailing the illness of Chris Martin and the postponement of their Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo concerts.

“It is with deep regret that we have been forced to postpone our upcoming concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Soo Paulo until early 2023,” declared Coldplay. Chris has been put on severe medical orders to rest for the next three weeks due to a dangerous lung illness. We will provide additional details in the next days and are working as fast as we can to set the new dates.”

“We are optimistic that Chris will return to good health following the prescribed medical break and look forward to resuming the tour soon,” the statement reads.

Even though Coldplay canceled their individual gigs in Brazil, they want to move forward with the plan in Argentina.

Coldplay revealed last month that they would be starting work on a world tour called Music of the Spheres. This would be adapted for the big screen, with Buenos Aires playing a part in the movie.
