Drake and Nicki Minaj lead hand in hand at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and above

Having a song debut at number one on the Billboard Hоt 100 is the ultimate achievement for any singer. It’s the Billboard Premier Songs Chart, after all, and a performer’s star usually has to line up in order to be listed among the greatest of the best.

All-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and video) and sales statistics are combined to create the Hоt 100; digital single sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) websites are not factored into the chart calculations. Purchases of digital tracks and physical singles from full-service digital music merchants are represented in the sales data.

Since August 4, 1958, when the survey was first conducted, almost 8,000 artists have had a song chosen for review. Just fifteen musicians have at least 100 songs in the charts overall.

The first artist to achieve 100 cumulative hits is Elvis Presley, whose career started before the Hоt 100 was even created. Out of a possible 109 points, he earned his 100th point in May 1975 with the song “T-R-O-U-B-L-E.” He held the record for the most total chart entries until the Glee Cast passed him in 2011 and almost tripled his total to 207 entries. That record stood until 2020, when Drake’s single “Oprah’s Bank Account” comfortably overtook the TV group at the top of the charts.

Drake now has 327 entries throughout his career, more than any other artist on the list (as of the Hоt 100 dated Dec. 2, 2023). Having at least 300 songs charted total, he is the first performer in history to accomplish this feat. The Glee cast (207), and Taylor Swift (231) are the only two artists that have charted at least 200.

Thus far in 2023, three musicians have been members of the 100-hits club. At age 23, YoungBoy Never Broke Again became the youngest artist to ever accomplish the achievement when they reached the milestone in May. Following the release of Pink Tape, Lil Uzι Vert became the fourteenth act to join in July. On August 12, Travis Scott became the latest artist to be included on the list as a result of his album Utopia’s arrival.

The Weeknd presently has 97 Hоt 100-charted songs. Eminem (95), Bad Bunny (93), Young TҺug (92), James Brown (91), 21 Sаvаge (89), Lil Durk (89), Beyoncé (82), Juice WRLD (79), and Gunna (77) are the next artists that may be in line to join the elite group.

Although musicians rarely have triple-digit entries on the Hоt 100 chart, this has started to happen more frequently since the ranking started taking streaming statistics into account in 2007. As a result, after producing well-known albums, several musicians have been successful in charting a large number of songs on the Hоt 100 in recent years. The approach is different from previous decades, when artists would typically promote one song at a time on radio and in the physical-only market. Artists’ recent success in charting multiple songs in short periods of time can be partially attributed to this shift in consumer behavior.

This is a current look at every artist who has had 100 or more career hits chart on the Hоt 100 as of the chart of December 2, 2023.
