Jay Z was angry when he was asked to sign a fan’s fake record

Jay-Z has no trouble insulting his supporters. One such instance is this awkward exchange that happened in New York City.

The Hollywood Fix just released a video in which Hov can be seen welcoming some admirers outside his Chelsea office. Crowd members urge Jay to sign copies of his albums, which include The Black Album, The Blueprint, and In My Lifetime Vols. 1 and 3. S. Carter’s Life and Times. Naturally, the East Coat icon obliges and starts down the line, signing each vinyl as a fan performs a rap routine in the background.

“Okay, folks, that concludes it. Hov continued, “Two more,” before jerkily stopping himself from signing the final album. “That one isn’t even authentic.”

Jay then appears to be heading toward the car while turning his back on the fan.

It looked like the album in question was The Black Album Revisited, a licensed release from the Japanese label Big Ghоst Ltd. Although it’s unknown if the fan intentionally gave a bootleg album, it’s safe to assume they won’t do it in the future.

The awkward exchange is available to see on YouTube above.

A fan attempted to get Hov to autograph a baseball in 2021, in an incident that was identical to this one. Understandably perplexed by the request, the Grammy winner finally declined to sign for the woman.

He answered, “I don’t play baseball,” and got into his SUV.
