Billie Eilish reacts to Ye’s demands for an apology about her alleged dissing of Travis Scott

Ye wants Billie Eilish to apologize before he performs at Coachella.


Kanye West took to Instagram Thursday to criticize Eilish for a joke she made during one of her shows, which Ye interpreted as a dig at Travis Scott, whose Astroworld Festival crowd surge killed 10 last November.

Fan video on social media shows Eilish stopping her Saturday concert to check on a fan. “You need an inhaler?” Eilish told the fan before ordering her stage workers to help the concertgoer.

According to Billboard, Eilish remarked, “I wait for people to be OK until I keep going,” in another footage of the interaction.

Ye posted on Instagram on Thursday a screenshot of an article saying Eilish “dissed” Scott with her comment.

“COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES,” Ye wrote in the message. “NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED.”

The “Donda” rapper said Scott would join him at Coachella after an apology. 

“YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM,” Ye said.

Ye’s accusation was refuted by Eilish. 

Eilish stated, “literally never said a thing about Travis,” on Ye’s tweet, adding, “was just helping a fan.” Ye, Eilish, Harry Styles, and Swedish House Mafia are Coachella headliners in April. Scott was previously scheduled for the 2020 festival alongside Rage Against the Machine and Frank Ocean. 

After the Astroworld Festival deaths in Houston, Texas, a petition was created in November to ban Scott from the festival. Eight perished on event day. A 22-year-old college student, the ninth, died at a hospital on Nov. 10. Ezra Blount, 9, the 10th and youngest, died in a hospital coma on November 14.

Scott stated he didn’t know about the crowd surge and killings until “minutes before the press conference” hours after the show.

“You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need,” Scott told Charlamagne Tha God in a December interview. “I saw that whenever I could. Several times, I stopped it to check on everyone.

I didn’t hear that. With my music and in-ear monitors, I didn’t hear that.”
