Before making his debut for Inter Miami on Tuesday, Lionel Messi consoled DJ Khaled’s young kid by walking out with him as a mascot before kickoff.
The clamor that welcomed the team as they stepped out onto the field at the DRV PNK Stadium appeared to be the reason why Asahd, 7, began crying while he was standing in front of Messi in the team lineup.
As young Asahd regained his composure, he offered a thumbs up to soccer’s biggest star, which Messi noticed and followed up on.
After that, DJ Khaled posted a video of Messi walking his son out onto the field before the game began, writing, ‘I’m extremely proud of my son!’ God bless you, @leomessi!
Messi displayed his tender side prior to kickoff, but as soon as play started, he revealed his vicious side.
He scored twice in the opening twenty-two minutes to help his new Inter Miami squad defeat Atlanta United 4-0.
Sergio Busquets set him up for his first goal, which he scored after racing through on goal and hitting the post with his first attempt.
When Atlanta failed to clear a pass into the penalty area, he scored his second. After that, Robert Taylor, a new teammate, scored twice before halftime to secure a resounding win.
In his second game back for the team, Messi played 78 minutes as he continues to regain his health.
Celebrities like P Diddy and Camilla Cabello joined DJ Khaled at Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium on Tuesday for Messi’s second game.
