While everyone has seen or participated in intense arguments during meetings, seeing two icons argue is a different experience. Rapper Travis Scott and tennis great John McEnroe appear to be fighting in a leaked video that was published by the website Nice Kicks.
We have been aware for a few months of Scott and Nike’s impending partnership, in which the rapper would redesign McEnroe’s vintage Nike Mac Attack tennis shoes. Any sneaker that bears Scott’s name can be sold in huge quantities.
Nonetheless, it seems like McEnroe is averse to the appellation. The Nice Kicks social media post below has the entire video, but be aware that McEnroe uses some foul language.
The abrasive former tennis star did not disguise his disapproval of the partnership in the video. Rather than using Scott’s brand name, “Cactus Jack,” McEnroe preferred to rename the sneaker the “Cactus Mac”. Scott was encouraged to “show a little respect” by McEnroe, who was not happy when Scott graciously rejected his suggestions.
As McEnroe seemed to stop the video conference session, Scott maintained his composure. When this call occurred and whether any of the problems have been fixed are unknown to us. It seems improbable that this disagreement will have an effect on the footwear partnership going forward.
