In 2024, Coldplay’s globe tour will take the British to places no other band has gone before: Australia and New Zealand.

Six more stadium dates have been added to Coldplay’s Down Under tour, bringing the total number of trans-Tasman concerts to 11 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, Sydney’s Accord Stadium, and Auckland’s Eden Park.

Chris Martin and Company have became the first act to perform three nights at Eden Park, the largest stadium in the country and the home of rugby for the nation’s 123-year history, with the addition of two dates.

As things stand, Coldplay will now play three performances in Auckland and four in Sydney, which are the two most populous cities in each market.

Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour has experienced “unprecedented demand for tickets” during the pre-sale period, according to Live Nation, the company producing the lap of ANZ.

The band returned to Western Australia for the first time since 2009 with two concerts at Optus Stadium in Perth last month, which generated excitement for the upcoming shows. The last time Coldplay performed in New Zealand and Australia was back in 2016.

The pop-rock trio is a real heavyweight in these parts; its eighth leader, Music Of The Spheres, debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2022. A Rush Of Blood To The Head (September 2002), X&Y (June 2005), Viva La Vida (June 2008), Mylo Xyloto (October 2011), Ghost Stories (May 2014), and Everyday Life (December 2019) were among their prior top-charting singles on the national chart

The History of the Music of the Spheres World Tour is already written. Over 9 million tickets have been sold for the trek from its launch date in March 2022. The band recently became the second artist to earn a half-billion dollar double-up in the top 10 highest-grossing tours of all time when their current tour crossed the $500 million mark, following the Rolling Stones into Billboard Boxscore history.
