Drake has served his impostor with a cease and desist letter, compelling him to adopt a new nаme.
Izzy Drake, who gained notoriety on social media by mimicking the Toronto rapper over the past year, posted a legal notice he received from Drizzy’s OVO Sound label on Instagram on Monday, October 24.
Demanding that Izzy cease using Drake’s nаme, likeness, and trademarks, which they claimed were “damaging and defamatory” to the OVO brand, the letter was delivered on Thursday, October 20.
“Cease and desist,” the letter’s opening stated. “Dear IzzyyDrake, please take note of the following: you are using the trademark “OVO” without authorization to promote your likeness and brand; additionally, you are fabricating media without authorization, which is detrimental and defamatory to our brand in and of itself. Your acts are unacceptable, unjustified, and undesired.
The statement went on, saying, “This will also function as a pre-suit letter requiring you to give us written confirmation in writing within 7 days that you will refrain from making any more false statements about Drake and/or OVO Sound and that you will stop creating fake media that features the aforementioned Trademarks. I appreciate your cooperation.
The real Drake, who turned 36 on Monday, was wished a happy birthday by Fake Drake, who changed his nаme to Izzy Famous and expressed no ill will despite receiving a cease and desist letter.
“Happy birthday to my biggest inspiration and the greatest artist in history,” he added. “I changed my nаme from IzzyyDrake to Izzyyfamous as a polite birthday present to @champagnepapi after receiving this cease and desist letter from OVO a few days earlier. More life, @preme, @bakanotnice, @tvgucci, my OVO brother.
Izzy Drake alleged that Drake had threatened to smack him during their time together in Miami earlier this year, which is why the cease and desist letter was sent.
He said in August on the We In Miami Podcast, “Let’s just sаy it wasn’t very inviting when I pulled up to Drake’s hotel room.” “They just kept trying to get close to us, so I texted him about the figҺt and he promised to come up and give me a free slаp.”
Prior to that, though, Izzy Drake stated that a mutual buddy who was a gambler told him that Drake wasn’t worried by his profitable doppelganger business, which was bringing in $5,000 a night.
When he contacted Drake, the latter said, “It doesn’t bother me; it doesn’t affect me.” Give the man his bag. I’m not affected by it. Just maintain the peace if you believe everything would go bad if you post him on your [Instagram Stories] and everything, Izzy said on the No Jumper show.
You know, he didn’t really give a fucƙ. That was everything about it. I’m just doing my thing and trying to be humble. I am doing all of this for my family because I have kids.
