Because Nicki Minaj has postponed the release of Pink Friday 2, there won’t be an album sales showdown between the two artists next month.
November 17 was scheduled to bring Nicki’s much awaited new album, as well as Wayne’s Welcome 2 ColleGrove duet with 2 Chainz.
However, she announced to her followers on Instagram Live on Tuesday, October 24, that the project has been postponed until December 8, which is her birthday.
The “Suρer Freaky Girl” hitmaker refuted rumors that her Young Money mentor had tampered with her album’s release date, saying during the livestream that the decision to postpone it was taken quietly “some time” ago.
“My album date has been modified,” she declared. It’s been altered behind the scenes for a while. You know how me and Weezy play, right? Weezy and 2 Chainz announced their date, as you can see.
“I wаnted to make sure you folks knew that he would never do that if that was my album date. Because I noticed that some of you guys were doubting that.
She went on, “I’ve moved my record release date to — and I promise the Barbz will understand why, I promise. You’ll sаy, “You did the right thing, Nick,” when I explain why I made the changes.
Pink Friday 2, which I’m thrilled to sаy will be released on December 8th, is a very meaningful day for me and the Barbz. This is the new album date for this amazing body of work, of which I’m really proud.
Later, Nicki Minaj revealed that the reason Pink Friday 2 was postponed was because of a shipment problem with the vinyl copies of her album.
“The vinyls were actually available for December 1st, the following week, but we were not able to get them in time for first week,” she stated. Thus, I had to decide between my birthday and December 1st, and I went with my birthday.
Nicki vowed that November 17 will still be a “major Pink Friday” even though her new album won’t be arriving on that day because she will be announcing her new tour.
The Queens, New York native has praised the journey as her “greatest tour” to date and has stated that it will “start around the first quarter of 2024.”
“This album will not remind you of another tour, even though it is named Prink Friday 2, and we love the nostalgia.” I’ll put it like this, she stated earlier this month on Instagram Live. It will surpass all previous tours combined, just like this album, in my opinion.
Even if you’ve attended every tour that Nicki Minaj has ever done, this one will feel extremely different. There are some things that I do the same way on every tour; but, this time, the viewpoint will be entirely different.
As for Nicki Minaj, she has so far revealed two versions of Pink Friday 2—one for the vinyl version and one for the normal version—as well as a few songs that could become singles, such as “Suρer Freaky Girl,” “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” and “Last Time I Saw You.”
After debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 185,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, 2018’s Queen will finally get a follow-up album.
Nicki Minaj delayed the release of a new album because she wаnted to maintain her friendship with Lil Wayne
