Twice canceling concerts at the last minute, the reason Travis Scott gave made fans even ɑngrier

Rapper Travis Scott’s Friday night concert in the United States may have been canceled due to circumstances in Ireland.

The well-known record producer, who used to be Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, was forced to postpone his Chicago show after his private plane broke down in Ireland.

Part of his “Utopia” World Tour, which drew inspiration from his #1 album of the same name, Scott was scheduled to perform at the United Center in Chicago on Friday night.

Following his Tuesday night performance in Detroit, Scott took a plane to Saudi Arabia, where he opened the first day of the Soundstorm 2023 music event. While traveling to the event, his private jet stopped at Shannon to refuel.

The number one rapper in the charts has not been confirmed to be on the flight, but his Embraer Lineage 1000 plane made a refueling stop in Shannon, Saudi Arabia on Friday at around 1:50 pm, and was scheduled to continue on to the US shortly after.

OK! Magazine USA on X: ""Just drove 3 hours for nothing." Fans express frustration after #TravisScott canceled his Chicago concert just hours before showtime. The abrupt decision left many questioning the reason

It is acknowledged, although, that the crew reported a technical problem with the aircraft, which required further investigation. The flight’s departure was consequently postponed.

At approximately 4:20 p.m., the flight left Shannon once more when the problem appeared to have been fixed. Less than two hours before his concert was scheduled to start, at approximately 6:20 p.m. local time, his jet was expected to land in Chicago after an eight-hour travel.

As soon as the aircraft took off, calling itself with its registration, N713TS, air traffic controllers questioned the crew about why they had not followed their original departure orders. The crew claimed to have received conflicting orders. Controllers acknowledged that they would need to submit a report regarding the issue.

The crew informed the controllers that they would need to return to Shannon about fifteen minutes after departure. It is known that the flight management system malfunction was reported by the crew.

Before arrival at Shannon, the flight crew acknowledged that they would need to burn off fuel. This was done to make sure the airplane landed safely within the weight restrictions. For a while, the aircraft hovered over East Clare before starting its approach to Shannon.

Additionally, the crew verified that the airplane landed safely at 5:18 p.m. and that they did not need any assistance upon arrival.

The airplane took off from Shannon again at 10.40 p.m., this time heading to Stansted Airport in England, having spent more than five hours on the ground.

Certain airplane tracking apps allowed for the tracking of the flight, but they did not provide the identification of the aircraft or any other information about the flight. The owner or operator of the aircraft frequently requests that this be done.

Meanwhile, thousands of fans in the US, where Scott was scheduled to perform, were shocked when the event was postponed with only a few hours’ notice.

As of Friday night, Scott had not posted anything on social media regarding the cancellation.

The X (formerly Twitter) account of the venue states: “Travis Scott’s event at United Center slated for tonight has been postponed. Once the new date is announced, all tickets that have already been purchased will be honored. As further details become available, they will be sent to ticket holders directly via email and posted here.
