DJ Khaled hopes to work with Tyler, The Creator again after calling it quits on their rivalry during JAY-Z’s yearly Roc Nation brunch.

Regarding his upcoming 14th album, Til Next Time, Khaled stated to Rolling Stone that he and the erstwhile Odd Future rapper are now friendly.

Journalist Jeff Ihaza claims, “He also tells me he’d like to work with Tems and, surprisingly, Tyler, The Creator, with whom he says he has a good rapport, despite a social media battle when Tyler’s IGOR beat Father of Asahd on the charts in 2019.” (He claims that earlier this year at JAY-Z’s Roc Nation brunch, they cut it up.)

After Tyler’s IGOR beat Khaled’s Father of Asahd album to the top spot on the Billboard 200 in 2019, the producer reportedly stormed the Epic Records offices and became enraged.

Khaled also took a shot at Billboard, accusing them of not accounting for copies of his record that came with dietary supplements.

“This is the thing, I make albums so people can play them,” Khaled stated in an Instagram video that has since been removed. And you can really hear it. You notice that another automobile is playing it as you are driving.

“You can hear them playing it if you go to the barbershop.” You know, you hear them playing it when you turn on the radio. It’s called amazing music, and it’s playing everywhere. Albums that let you hear the music are what they’re called. You never hear it and it’s not some mysterious crap.

Tyler, The Creator has subsequently made light of the situation, bringing up DJ Khaled as he celebrated winning Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

“And to [DJ Khaled], thank you.” I am aware of your rage and anger. “Oh no, nobody plays that record!” he exclaimed. “These fully booked arena tours convey a different message. And perhaps everyone would be proud of you as well if you put that much effort into something.

Tyler has previously declared that he relished surpassing Khaled to the top of the chart, characterizing the mogul’s collapse as “observing a man perish within.”

He said, “Bro that Khaled thing was fun, it was just watching a man die inside,” in an interview with Hot 97 in 2021. I was moonwalking in a wig, and the crazy was winning. Everyone was listening to this n-gga’s album. Everyone. He’ll probably never acknowledge it, but that n-gga ego got crushed.

“I simply let that No. 1 speak without saying anything. Because being No. 1 is the core of N-gga’s identity, his ego had to deal with that. And in real life, he thought about that moment for longer than it did when he didn’t understand it.

Since Father of Asahd, DJ Khaled has released two albums, Khaled Khaled and God Did, both of which have peaked at number one. CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, Tyler’s IGOR follow-up, likewise peaked at number one on the albums chart.
