DJ Khaled gave rapper Future a gold-plated Rolex watch worth half a million dollars for his 39th birthday last year.

DJ Khaled has long since perfected the art of going all out in everything he does, even giving his friends gifts on important occasions. For his 33rd birthday, the Miami producer and record executive gifted Future, a regular recording partner, a Rolex Sky-Dweller watch.

Over the weekend, Khaled was in Los Angeles to celebrate the publication of his new book, The Keys, which also served as a star-studded celebration for the release of his platinum-selling album, Major Key. After receiving a gold plaque, Khaled was treated to more surprises.

Khaled’s Instagram page shows that Future and Khaled were beaming as they exchanged the diamond-encrusted watch, which can be purchased for up to $40,000 on some online sites, on Khaled’s birthday.

The exchange was captured on camera by Khaled and posted to Instagram. The couple can be seen in multiple pictures, one of which shows Future donning the watch. Among the celebrities who joined Khaled at the event were Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Nas, L.A. Reid, the head of Epic Records, will.i.am, and Mariah Carey.
