For Coldplay, the next few years appear to represent the end of an era.

The band’s frontman, Chris Martin, stated in the teaser for an upcoming BBC Radio 2 interview with Jo Whiley that the group plans to stop releasing new music by 2025.

The full interview with the 44-year-old will be released on Thursday. “Well, I know I can tell you, our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” the singer stated.

“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things, but the Coldplay catalog, as it were, finishes then,” he stated.

The band became instantly famous after releasing their debut album Parachutes in 2000, which included the breakthrough single “Yellow.”

Meanwhile, Coldplay has amassed a fantastic discography that includes multiple platinum-selling albums, thirty Grammy nominations, and seven statuettes.

Most recently, in October, the group released their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, which includes collaborations with BTS, We Are King, Selena Gomez, and Jacob Collier.

The K-pop superstar BTS made an appearance via hologram during Coldplay and BTS’s live performance of their song “My Universe” on The Voice earlier this month. The performance took place at the American Music Awards in November.

In order to promote Music of the Spheres, Coldplay is expected to embark on an international tour the following year. After their A Head Full of Dreams Tour in 2016 and 2017, this will be the band’s first tour since then.
