Linkin Park is about to reunite, singer Sum 41 is not participating. See why 👇

Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley has denied rumours that he is joining Oasis or Linkin Park.

Thank you Sum41. Linkin Park family will always love you : r/LinkinPark

The 90s rock icon has been at the centre of rumours that he might be joining Linkin Park for a reunion tour next year after the group posted a countdown on their website. Despite the rumours, he said this is not true, as he wrote: “I feel the need to dispel some current rumours.

“It’s been brought to my attention that many people think I could be joining a reuniting band. But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis… or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter. I have my own ‘tour and book’ announcement that I will now move to the end of the week, ahead of our U.S. tour.

“I do look forward to seeing whatever both these amazing bands do in the future.” Speculation began after the Fat Lip musician instructed American fans to “tune in” for an announcement on Wednesday morning – which happened to be around the same time the countdown ended. Due to the wide speculation, he was forced to deny the rumours.

Linkin Park has been on hiatus since Chester Bennington’s death in 2017. However, there have been ongoing rumours that a reunion featuring original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell could be in the works.

There have also been suggestions that a female singer would take on the role of lead singer, but Evanescence star Amy Lee denied she could be the one stepping in. She said during an interview with Canada’s iHeart Radio: “That is an incredible compliment, have not heard that.”

She added: “No, I have not been contacted by [Linkin Park] or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan [and] feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.” It comes as Liam and Noel Gallagher from British band Oasis announced their epic reunion tour made up of 14 shows across the UK and Ireland.

The pair posed in a new black and white photo together as the full details of their first shows in 16 years were announced at 8am on Tuesday. And in a joint statement on behalf of Oasis said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see.”

They said the show won’t be televised, so only fans who can get tickets will be able to see it. The announcement has almost broken the internet, with millions of fans across the globe sharing their disbelief that they will finally once again be able to hear the likes of Wonderwall and Live Forever live after Manchester-born brothers decided to end their bitter feud for the sake of the music.

The iconic 90s band will hit the road beginning in Cardiff and ending in Dublin and the gigs will form part of a world tour for Oasis, which is expected to earn the Gallaghers’ tens of millions of pounds.
