It would take a high-profile group indeed to upstage America’s First Family
But Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter came close at this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll on March 28th.
And last Friday, the pop sensation finally posted the afternoon’s photos to her website www.beyonce.com, bringing fans behind the scenes of her family’s stately day out.
Belle of the ball: Beyoncé visited her official website to post photos of her family’s visit to this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll
Guess what I am!: Blue Ivy Carter, the Formation singer’s daughter by her husband Jay-Z, seemed to be having the time of her life at the Easter celebration
‘Liberty throughout the land’: The four-year-old posed next to a replica of the Liberty Bell
The one I love: The Love On Top (second from right) posed with (from left) her stepfather Richard Lawson, her nephew Daniel Julez Smith, Jr, her mother Tina Lawson, her daughter and Jay-Z
En route: The March 28th celebration was the 138th of its kind and the last during the Obama administration
Whilst entering the White House, she’d pulled a long black and white striped coat over her dress – a coat that neatly matched her husband’s T-shirt.
The 46-year-old threw a black and white striped vest, then a black blazer, then a black hoodie over his outfit, apparently unaffected by the sunny weather.
It was their four-year-old, however, who appeared to be having the most fun. Wearing a white dress with multicoloured gems painted onto it, Blue Ivy gamboled about in pink bunny ears, imitating the animal and mugging for the camera in front of a facsimile Liberty Bell.
She’d slung a faux white fur around her clothes as she posed for a family picture in front of the bell. In the photograph, the Love On Top singer’s mother and stepfather, Tina and Richard Lawson, stood behind Solange Knowles’ son Daniel Julez Smith, Jr.
Frequent guests: The music industry power couple were also invited to Friday night’s all-night 55th birthday party for the President
The 138th White House Easter Egg Roll, at which the First Couple adorably made monster faces while reading Where The Wild Things Are to the children, was the last of the Obama administration.
Having lip-synced The Star Spangled Banner at the President’s second inauguration, Beyoncé is, of course, no stranger at the White House. She and Jay-Z seem to have pride of place as the President rings in a string of finales during his last full year in office.
According to Page Six, they featured on the First Lady’s celebrity-strewn guest list for her husband’s 55th birthday party last Friday.
The all-night fête on Pennsylvania Ave included appearances from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Sarah Jessica Parker, Magic Johnson and George Lucas.
