Mike Shinoda met again with the interviewer who didn’t recognize him in a viral video from a few years ago.

During an interview for the ‘Arcane: League of Legends’ premiere, Twitch streamer Ovilee May initially didn’t recognize who Shinoda was. Then, she got excited when she recognized him and bowed to him on the red carpet.

At the event, May joked around with Shinoda, doing funny dances and posing for the camera while streaming live on Twitch. “You came up here and you didn’t tell me your name, so I don’t know your name,” she said before Mike replied, “My name is Mike Shinoda. I play in a band called Linkin Park.”

Ovilee May was shocked as soon as Shinoda spoke. She said, “I’m gonna need the camera to tilt down for a second. Thank you so much. Thank you for everything. You’re amazing. I apologize for my transgressions. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to the world.”

Now, ‘League of Legends’ shared a new video from their official Instagram account where we see Shinoda and May reunite. “Hey guys, Ovilee here at ‘League of Legends’ Worlds in London. I’m gonna do an interview but I actually don’t know who I’m interviewing,” she began.

When Ovilee saw Shinoda coming to her for the interview, she said, “Crap.” Then, footage from their previous video appeared. “Mike, it’s so good to see you again,” May continued. “Good to see you, too,” Shinoda said.

“You’re gonna take the stage for the Opening Ceremony for Worlds, gonna be singing the song. How excited are you for that moment?” Ovilee asked the singer. “It’s such a big show. There’s the fans outside are going nuts already, so, yeah, it’s really exciting,” Shinoda responded.

May again asked, “Anything you want to shout out? Anything you want to say to the new or old Linkin Park fans who are excited to watch you guys perform?” Mike replied, “Yeah, I mean, we’re thrilled to be back. We’re thrilled about the new music. Thank you for all the support on ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ and ‘Emptiness Machine.’ Everything’s been better than we could have asked for. So, just the beginning.”

Linkin Park performed ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ on November 2 at the opening ceremony of the 2024 ‘League of Legends’ World Championship at the O2 Arena in London. ‘Heavy Is the Crown’ is the anthem for the 2024 ‘League of Legends’ World Championship and is the band’s first collaboration with Riot Games.
