During a recent interview with Los Angeles radio station KROQ, Linkin Park’s co-lead singer Emily Armstrong reflected on her and drummer Colin Brittain joining an already successful band.
“There’s a lot of firsts for me obviously and Colin [Brittain]. It’s everything I’ve wanted, that’s another thing too. It’s like working so hard to get to a place and then this is just how it all laid out for me and us. It couldn’t be more perfect,” she said.
Armstrong continued, revealing that as a teenager Linkin Park’s song “One Step Closer” was what made her want to scream while singing. She added, though, that because she has been a fan of the band since childhood, she’s really making a conscious effort to “not ruin the band.”
“Sure, I mean, what I’m taking from that is being a fan of the band. That’s the anchor really and I love what they do. The fact that I get to be a part of it is still crazy and [I] try to not ruin anything,” she explained.
