Chester Bennington’s son Jaime recently shared on Instagram that Mike Shinoda is a ‘pathological liar.’
He explained that the debate about when Emily met members of Linkin Park in 2017 or 2019 seemed settled because both she and Mike Shinoda had agreed they met around a week before the October 2017 Hollywood Bowl show.
Jaime then pointed out that Mike Shinoda admitted to being a liar on the album ‘From Zero,’ specifically in the last song. Jaime called Mike ‘a lying liar who lies.’ He added that Shinoda’s lies are sometimes intended to resolve issues, but those close to him grow tired of his dishonesty.
Jaime also referenced two interviews in 2023 where Shinoda confessed to lying about the Linkin Park comeback, specifically stating that he lied to interviewers about the band’s plans. One interview involved Shinoda claiming he had met with the band in 2017, later changing the date to 2019. In another interview on The Zach Sang Show, Shinoda admitted, “Yeah, I did lie to you,” when asked about keeping secrets.
Jaime went on to criticize Emily Armstrong, noting that she has not acknowledged her mother’s involvement in Scientology or apologized for her behavior during the Danny Masterson trial. He emphasized that Mike Shinoda had admitted to lying on the album, stating that his lies had affected his real life. Jaime even mentioned that a high-profile figure like Jimmy Fallon had to remove an interview with Shinoda because of these issues.
Previously, Jaime accused Linkin Park of replacing his father with Emily Armstrong, claiming that Shinoda was erasing Chester Bennington’s legacy by introducing the new band lineup. He also pointed out Armstrong’s connection to Scientology and her support of Danny Masterson during his 2020 rape trial, though Armstrong later denied speaking to him after his crimes were exposed.
